In all honesty, the jockey "helmet" here is almost more accurate to Alien than the ones in Prometheus, shapewise with the curvature of the trunk.

The one in Alien also had things growing over it and what not.

Also the ship in Alien had been crashed longer then the Engineers had been dead. For all we know they changed designs a little.

Fact is films do small changes from film to film. The designers prob changed a few things here and there but kept it enough the same to match closely.

If Ridley Scott says that's what a Space Jockey looks like then who are we to argue? He doesn't care what the AVP2 film or it's directors design or made their skulls look like.

I'm not calling the Prometheus one inaccurate, but I'm just pointing out, if Riddles ever "really" wanted to copy from AVP2, he wouldn't need to, since he could just take the preexisting design from his own film.

Also the Space Jockey's head looks to small in that Throne Room to me. Compare it to the Xenomorph.

I was being kinda of sarcastic when I said he'd take from their film.

I also remember the original design of the Space Jockey's trunk was supposed to look like a Pilot's breathing mask.

I think he always intended that to be what it was since it's the Pilot of the ship.

I think the Idiot Director Brothers jumped the gun and just made the trunk head and all look just like Alien even though trunks aren't made of bone and don't fossilize.

So much for the horned alien skulls.

In response to the "That's not a jockey skull and the Preds don't take helmets" argument, why wouldn't they take helmets? They obviously take more than just skulls, what with the weapons they've taken off of enemies, like the pistol from Predator 2. Why wouldn't they take masks and helmets as well? It's no different than American soldiers taking pit-helmets from nazis in WWII.

Okay, well personally, the horned alien skulls might be a trait leftover from whatever species the predators have used to hunt aliens.

And HybridNewborn has  nailed it with whatever argument there was pertaining to the subject of the helmets.

Name one Predator film that they took a Helmet? Now how many times have they taken a skull? How many Skulls are in that trophy room vs. Helmets? It makes no sense for them to hunt such powerful beings as Engineers and just take the helmet and leave the skull. Plus the fact that all the other ones are skulls, they decide to leave the skull behind and put up the helmet?

That sounds silly.

Why would the Predator not take the skull of a Space Jockey but instead take it's Helmet? They always take Skulls in every film I've seen and every comic I've read.

Fact is the directors of the film said in the commentary that it's a Space Jockey Skull.

Now that Ridley has designed the Space Jockey's the way he wanted or envisioned then it's not accurate anymore and has been retconned.

Then again, the AVP films and the Alien films are not officially connected.

I agree they aren't connected but don't let Xenomorph or how ever he spells his screen name to see this....he'll go ape shit.

I think Predator fans want this to be a Space Jockey so they can make the Predators seem more badass by saying they bagged a Space Jockey.

I mean it was meant to be a Space Jockey but Ridley just pissed in the Directors of AVP2's cereal. God if we all could.

It's honestly not hard to piss in the director of APV:R's cereal. Lol.

And why will he go apeshit?

It obviously is a space jockey...I don't see it as being anything else.

The canonicity, of this however, to avoid any arguments, is, as Xenomrph would say, "Your opinion man."

And why will he go apeshit?

Xenomrph is among the group that considers most, if not all, of the EU and films interconnected and canon.  Including, of course, the AVP films.

Even though I don't consider a lot of EU canon, I can accept it over the AVP films being canon.
I mean seriously, if you are a true Alien fan why would you WANT them to be canon.

He thinks they are canon with each other.

He thinks Charles Bishop Weyland is either Peter Weyland's dad or relative and Peter either started a new Weyland company or took over the old one, even though the History of Peter Weyland mentions none of this.

It also states that Yutani Corp is a new company around 2029 but in AVP2 it existed previous to 2004.

Plus the Space Jockey skull not looking the same and etc.

I've argued with the guy for pages and got no where and gave up.

I don't care if they are canon or not canon because in my Alien Universe they aren't.

I don't think its their matter of want, but just fairness.

I don't consider AVP canon, but isn't it funny how the fact that the film sucked so much ass, people wanted to erase them from continuity? What if you didn't like Prometheus, as it turns out, a lot of people didn't?  Can that just be cast of as non-canon too?

There's too much trouble with overthinking about a silly movie franchise.

Too many plot holes to be canon.

Though bishop being peter's dad isn't a bad idea.
