More to the point, why does his torso seem to of been pecked open as if by some great eagle...could this be another Prometheus allusion?

The mural of the "God" and his "Beast"... I knew I'd seen something similar before, and didn't understand it (still don't) but we've all seen it before in the cave painting found on Skye:



Just to the left of the tall guy is a strange animal in a similar stance with the same rib cage - i'm sure there's a clearer pic somewhere.

i wouldn't feel that confident if the jockey's had some pet with them... 
like the teddy in A.I. or any other pets of main actors in mainstream movies (lilo & stitch, etc. pp).

i am only that concerned, because i am afraid, that you might be right.

Great set of pics. The top one is the most interesting. First there was egg morphing now there's...mural morphing? Whatever the hell it is, it's intriguing to say the least.

Pure speculation of course:

The "beast" is the true form of the Space Jokey. They morphed into the humanoid form when they encountered the humans so that the humans would accept them as their gods.

The head looks like it would fit properly into the Space Jokey suit.

Agreed, but this latest image shows an actual painted scene. The ampule room is like the Sistine Chapel. A Giger Sistine Chapel... oh shit... wow... I just wet myself.

Could these 'active murals' depict the engineers lifecycle and their creative biomechanoid 'capabilities', just like some of the murals Giger did for Alien that never made it into the final film, because the whole idea of the temple was scrapped?

I think it's more complex than Ridley trying to cram stuff into Prometheus that 'wouldn't fit/ FX-wise wasn't attainable/ made no Goddamn-sense' from Alien.
