Looks to me it's the escape pod Vickers uses while on the background the Prometheus flies toward the Engineer's ship.

We see that pod 3 times so far -
- Launching off the Prometheus when it is zooming towards the derelict (Trailer Preview)
- New shots of it flying off as seen in the second TV spot
- When the derelict explodes, you see it on the ground in the lower right corner (HD IMAX Trailer)
