Terx2:

Were real motherf**kers ;D

And you saw how well that worked when the thing took off its filtering mask in the first one, didn't you? ;)

Somewhere cool would be better for natural eyesight to evolve like that. Just because they come here at the hottest times doesn't necessarily mean that's where their species was developed. Either that or they're genetically engineered creations for a different creature (which either died out naturally or they took over in conquest, which would at least explain how they managed to get technology).

Somewhere uniformly cool would have precisely the same problem: lack of differential. Given that we know the predators come from a planet hotter than ours (they generally come to earth during heatwaves etc), it suggests that their natrual habitat is an arid one as well. The problem the predator had in the first film was the latent humidity in the air, which made it like one of use trying to distinguish white objects in a white room. Mind you, he didn't seem to have any problem tracking Dutch with his mask off...

Omegazilla:
We could always say the first Predator was affected by some form of alien daltonicism, since Predator 2.

Not when hunting prey. Warm bodies would stand out.

Not necessarily. Maybe they just realise more humans are outside at those time.

Sharks don't go to California because they like the scenery. They go to eat seals. :)

Neither did the audience - but it was more difficult than when the mask was on. One could easily have read that scene as the Predator deliberately handicapping itself as proof to itself that it can still wipe the floor with its chosen target.
