All the 3 preds looked like shit and dident have the feeling of a PREDATOR. Only thing I really liked about this movie was the Predator hanging in the tree, That Predator was the perfect replica of p1.

actually one could view it as just that, a re-spin of p1 solely to promote their new predator. just like p1 where the focus is on the humans and the predator making brief appearances until the grand finally.

about the new predators appearance, if you didn't notice, berserker's look got more attention than his 2 friends. his 2 friends seems to wear a generic mold of the same skin while berserker's skin gets more detail and a paint job. the same goes for their predator armor as well. falconer could have looked better but i guess he wasn't important enough, not even to see his face.

i would say the old predator they recreated was 99.99% accurate, the wire that connects from his shoulder cannon arm to his wrist computer is missing. but this is nothing significant to get into a trifle over.

overall i still love the movie and if they made a predators 2 i would hope it would be a re-spin of predator 2 in that it expands upon how theses new predators are different in looks and behavior. people are still trying to accept berserker's face vs classic's face but i think the movie is predator worthy because it adds even more to the predator universe with these new types.

I hear what your saying bro. I can give you that this movie was better than AVP movies but as a true Predator fan, I just cant accept the new Predator look. And when it comes to performance, than OH MY. We all know that nobody will ever beat Kevins performance, Some of you will say its just a damn costume. NO, It aint just a damn costume, its about how well you can act in those costumes and make the crowd really feel this ALIEN from another planet believable, Thats what I felt with Kevins performance.
all Predators from AVP 1 FAILED performance and there look was awful IMO. Predators Failed the look of all 3 new preds IMO. Wolf from AVPR was kinda ok I guess, Atleast Ian whyte did a better job than he did in AVP

an example of what your saying is freddy from nightmare on elm street.

his character acting is what brought freddy to life but around the 2nd movie they tried to replace him or get rid of him. they figured anyone can play freddy behind the mask but what they failed to see is what he brought to the character so his replacement was horrible. by the end he came back and has been freddy ever since, last movie excluded.

when you say you can't accept the look can you be more specific. i keep thinking it's the face that's throwing you off instead of the armor because there have been many toys and comics with more way-out-there designs. what's your thoughts upon the toy-line being-made/was-made after the predators on the predator ship from the 2nd movie? are they closer to home on your liking now that we can get a better look at them?

Your correct on the Freddy part, and since you brought up Robert, Kane Hodder from F13 is my favorite Jason of them all because he showed all the other Jasons that Jason aint just about walking up to a guy and killing him.

Anyway, Im not a fan of the so called new technology they put on the new preds from AVP movies. I never liked the idea of the shuriken, the Predator disc from P2 was way cooler. Dident like the idea of the Razor Whip ( this aint no cowboy movie ) and the Power Glove is something that would work in a Robocop movie. The paint job was aweful, there helmet was bad and there FACE without the helmet OMG garbage. The Predators new vision is bad, Predator nowdays sounds like a TIGER or a LION, And since when did a Predator ROAR like that with a helmet on ? Im telling you, it took them 3 movies to make 1 singel Predator look right, The Predator that was captured In Predators was PERFECT and back to roots.
NOW, When it comes to acting in a costume, Ian Whyte came the closest to KVPHs performance in AVPR.
So what it takes for a  Predator fan like me to enjoy a Predator movie is more than just a good story line, its also about a guy who can performe behind that costume.. Thanks to the AVP movies they took away all the mystery behind the Aliens and the Predator and thanks to Predators I never wanna see another Predator movie again because they just keep harming the franchise more than do GOOD. You cant fix sometimes that is totally damaged

To me predators is a movie that was made to satify the fans from the disapoinment of the avp movies and try to bring back the magic of predator,  but at the same time I still think it was an ok movie.  The movie really had some shocker momments of gore that we would of never have seen in predator 2.  I don't think this movie will be a classic but a cult classic like predator 2.  I feel that predators was made as a last chance to help the predator movies stay alive but at the same time a last resort before they decide to stop, this story was brought up way before predator 2 was being made.  I do know that John Davis as spoken about ideas of any follow ups and he said recently that we need to take time and think up some fresher ideas for the movies.

I did not like Predators at all. Predator 2 is, by far, a superior film to Predators. It took the first film's core idea and successfully transplanted it to an entirely different setting with different characters and a somewhat different plot, expanding the mythology considerably. Predator 2 has this entertaining, over-the-top vibe that you don't find in a lot of other films yet it has just as much suspense as the first film. Danny Glover makes a convincing and vulnerable hero, if a tad more believable than Arnold Schwarzenegger's muscle-bound Commando in the first film. Some of the dialogue is a bit cheesy in Predator 2 but most of the time it is quite consistent and far from cringe-worthy.

Predators is what I would call a "try-hard". It tries too hard to be like the first film and falls flat on its arse doing so. None of the characters are particularly likeable (were they supposed to be? Who knows? Who cares? The only one I liked was Laurence Fishburne's character and he's only on-screen for ten minutes). The action sequences were often lacklustre and over far too quickly and the plot is virtually non-existent. In fact, the plot itself is built entirely upon Deux Ex Machina: A bunch of people are dropped onto an alien planet from completely out of nowhere, it's never explained just how this occurred. The character of Eric Foreman Edwin, played by Topher Grace, had his whole "reveal" spoiled pretty much from the beginning as it was blatantly obvious that something was not quite right with him, thus leading viewers such as myself into thinking there'll be a "twist" with him later on. A lot of the "funny" exchanges ("Your ass is beautiful", for example) were just awfully written and delivered.

TL;DR version: I did not like Predators and Predator 2 is better, in my view. Was "Predators" worthy? Sure. Worthy of being thrown into my garbage bin.

i approve of every word you said sir, similar to my review on predators

samoht:
Yes its worthy. Predators though will only ever be considered a classic because it is directly connected to PREDATOR.
