Yes it is in EU from what I just looked up and from returning to see SiL's post. It was in the games from what I remember. AvP2010 and AvP1999 rang some bells.

AvP: Extinction too. Anyway, I actually loved the idea of a Predalien when I found them in the games. My only vendetta is with the Straus Bro's Predalien. Dem fanboys should just accept it's not a young queen and it can't reproduce. It was meant to be just something bigger and badder but the Bros had to find a lame and poor excuse to have dozens of aliens running around without the existnce of a TRUE QUEEN.

I theorize that Chet would have lost its traits eventually as it grew into a Queen.
That's already a better guess, Queen molting, but then you'd wonder why the first Alien didn't molt as well.

Don't forget that the Aliens in AVP for genetically altered by the Predators to grow faster; who knows what sort of tinkering that did to the Predalien's growth process into a Queen.
The fact the AvP Aliens are genetically engineered is entirely speculative. For all we know, their growth rate could be just due to the fact they're a different species.
Not to mention a faster growth rate would make the Predalien grow faster into a Queen by sheer logic, it doesn't.

Hilarious thing is that there were Facehuggers on the Predator ship, could've been easy to make one of them a Queen bearing one, then when they go to Earth it hatches and sets a hive in the sewers (or else) along with the Predalien.

How do we know Queens don't take traits? Have we seen any born from non-humans?
Born from Scar, AKA the Predalien-queen theory ;)
Other than that. Whether or not that was a queen is up in the air. I think it was, but it can only be possible if Queens take traits. I'm saying that we don't know that they don't, so they might.

It is a Queen, I even talked to the people at Amalgamated Dynamics,  I called there company 1(818)882-8638.

As was said in Aliens: Female Wars, and Aliens vs Predator: Extinction, the creatures, especially the Queens, choose how fast they grow.   If the Aliens were altered to grow faster by the Aliens they could have only used the same natural hormones Aliens uses to accelerate there own growth.

I believe that Kane's Son was male and therefore had to use the eggmorphing method to make a female Queen.

What's the point of that?  Why not just grow as fast possible every single time?

So you're taking it the Queen in Resurrection used parthenogenesis?

Parthenogenesis is a form of asexual reproduction (sort of a 'last card to play', biologically speaking), in which a female is able to reproduce without fertilization.
Thing about this 'theory' is that Parthenogenesis usually produces females, at least in XY-based organisms.
Since ZW-based ones can actually produce males, though, there's no reason to think there's an Alien chromosome thing going out there, so one can actually buy that theory. So it's between this and Aliens being hermaphroditic.

As was stated in Aliens: Female Wars they pick when to emerge from there host so they can spread to different parts of the world without being detected.  This tactic comes in handy if the Aliens have not built up enough forces to annihilate hostile forces in a straight forward conflict.

It is not a theory, Komodo Dragons can do this.

he's not talking about parthogenesis but it's supposed application in the alien biology.

and komodo dragons mate. you're thinking of New Mexico lesbian lizards.

Exactly. We don't know if the Aliens actually use parthenogenesis or are hermaphroditic. Either is a 'theory'. There's not definitive data.

And to give credit where it's due, Komodo Monitors are able to reproduce parthenogenetically. I specifically remember when it was discovered, it was an event, a female in Chester Zoo in England produced viable eggs without fertilization from a male.
