This is either going to be a hit or miss, but so far it's in-between for me. Will have to wait and judge by the looks of the full trailer being released soon.

The full trailer will be out this Sunday.

Badass buts looks like the 5th element

and that's a bad thing because?

i was really worried they were making it really contemporary, and have the only SF thing be the recall device, i'm totally relieved it's actually decent SF.

That looks very Source Code-ish. Same text even.

I'd like there to be at least one very unlucky escalator-riding commuter in this.

This new version looks incredibly generic. I will rather wait for it on DVD.

Agreed. It just feels rather... Like they took the name, one idea, and the rest was just kinda done in Beige. I don't know.

I have nothing against exploring the idea more, but the original was awesome,  so if you're going to do it again, you have to give it the Zack Snyder vs Original Dawn of the Dead treatment, imho. You have to do something different with the idea.

It doesn't really feel like they're doing anything outstanding with it.

^ I must agree also, I think you are feeling this because there simply isn't anything new on show, like so many films these days we have all seen it before. Everything I saw in that trailer I have seen in many other films and probably more than once, it looks well done don't get me wrong but just completely unoriginal and nothing to get excited about.

Same with Avengers, it looks very slick with some top cgi work, but that still doesn't hide the fact there is completely nothing new on show a tall, been there, seen it, bought the underpants.

This is the issue with reboots and remakes, your seeing the same shit over and over again and sometimes (most times) its worse than the previous effort/s hehe.
