'Aliens' had creatures which not only fought back, but actively hunted you down, en masse and were mercilessly vicious with the end result.

They were also able to withstand getting hit by bullets, up to a certain point.

The recent film had creatures which seemed unwilling to fight back and were far easier to kill, nor did they appear to use a similar degree of intelligence. Plus, their acid did not seem to be nearly so potent.

Predator : Solo Predator kills an entire platoon of Green berets, wipes out acouple of guerilla rebels and kills off 90% of yet another group of highly trained special op soliders in the jungle before FINALLY getting killed by Dutch.
