Nice scale illusion going on there. It seems that there's a smaller axe for the dude in the Predator suit, so when a human uses the (larger-sized) prop, it makes the Predators seem larger.
Otherwise there's two different axes in the plot.

But yes Royce is hold the ax from the film as he is running away from the flames!

this has been answered before in other threads. the tusks are on the mask. that isnt his face, its his mask. the tusks arent attached to his jawbone, they are attatched to the lower mask.
Well damn. Sorry, I wasn't sure about the tusks, they look somewhat of a biological origin so I thought they might have a... connection ;) to the Pred behind the mask.
But they are organic. This SP ripped them out from some poor creature and attached to his own mask to look more cool.

Werent they very strong physically? AP. sure arent as strong as Deinotherium or Mammuthus sungari but I bet they would be a physically chalange. Plus, would they also have hunted like Tyrannosaurus? They could only kill one of those with a plasma caster shot to the head.

I think, both, the large jaw and the tusks are attached to the skulls as decoration (or some other purpose) I dont think they're actually part of the Predator's facial features.

But at BSP those are his lower tusks. The tusks are not attached to the mask.

The jaw looks far too different from being a "Predator jaw". I'm 99% sure it's NOT part of the BSP himself.

Not there anymore. I just checked the whole website and i never got that background.
Now looking at that pic, the BSP will have a very, very different face and shape.
You can also see that the face will have a redish tint to it, like Predator 2. But the whole shape is different.
It may be mean the BSP have killed other predators before.... ::)

Hm... you may be right. But we must not forget, that KNB and Rodruigez said that these Super Preds really look different. As a matter of fact there's an interview with Greg Nicotero where he states that "you will only see the face of the BSP and his face is totally different than anything you have seen before".
... and there's also been some kind of interview (can't remember which though) where it's said, that those Super Preds might either be a different clan or Bad Bloods that have mutated themselves to gain Power... the second theory would fit with a disformed Jaw Bone.
I believe that Jaw actually is the one of Mr. Black, and if it's not I don't think that Black's Jaw will look anything like the traditional Pred's face. It wouldn't make sence that both kind of Preds look the same... they wanted them to look very different in the first place.

Yes, those horns are not that practical, I agree. I don't really try to bring up pragmatic things, but practical, efficient things are necessary for hunting, hence for preds. I'm not saying it would be bad because it doesn't look like anything from the former movies.
I think it would look bad if the mask would be in the jaw itself, no matter if we're talking about the race of predators, or any other. that's all. But I can't have it as an argument, now can I :D

celtic was nice, but it felt true to what anderson did which was a cartoony sort of broad prodction. here the masks look a bit more subtle and a little more organic. which works much more in Predator films. Or at least, thats how i see it.
Wouldn't have called a bin-head, a pair of chopsticks and glued on, fake dentures subtle. But whatev!

I can see part of tusk's mask and just to the left is hard to tell, but it looks like maybe teeth or just his shoulder.
Finally figured it out... The superimposed image (that is the grey spotty one) is a horizontally flipped close up of Tusks...
Still doesn't explain the teeth/mandibles superimposed over Tusks stomach...
Oh on another note, The pic does show that the Super Preds have glass lenses in the masks rather than mesh

They're actually part of "Tusks" necklace.
They're not superimposed, he's actually wearing them around his neck.

In the interview they said that only the BSP had combed back hair, but in this picture shown before, also the Falconer seems to have combed back hair, yet in the trailer it looks normal again...

Don't worry, some people are so consumed by how good this movie looks now that they've forgot the past 6 years of pain. Personally I hated that photo, still do, every bad thing that could be said about a predator is in that picture. All how it's done in Camera at the end of the day.

I have a question. If that is Bsp's Lower jaw and not an add on to his mask, then why is it just bone and not any flesh? Seems to me that is just a bone from some other kill added to his mask.

The concept art of river of blood and hanged bodies (not classic) reminds me of comic: Dark river. It was like sh*t I think, but in the beginning had the fear factor with the predator going nuts.

Oh I'm sure the 100 minutes of film will be great... But Jesus... Everything to do with marketing with this film has just fallen flat on its face... Just today we've had a f**king sumo wrestler and a failed attempt at a product reveal... And yesterday the leak of all those pictures... And before that the leak of the TV spot... I was just looking on rotten tomatoes there and seen a picture thumbnail titled "pictures of the week" , on it was what i think may have been a shot of the BSP's face, it was an unfamiliar looking face with red eyes so it may have been, im not sure as i deliberatley closed the page.
Just warning anyone who frequents there to be careful if u don't want anything spoiled for you, i tried not to look at it and all the other set pics for that matter as i still want to keep the surprise for seeing the movie first time.

Very nice painting! About the Super Black Predator...I think the thing looks awesome. I'm happy they decided to expand the predators. It only makes sense that there are more than one kind of Predator. Even Predator 2 made the Predator look different. I'm happy there seems to be a Predator fight as well that looks awesome. I miss the original predator look as well so seeing both a really awesome new predator design and the old one being in one movie is a delight for me.

yeah, the red pred's from Dead End, which is amazing. I do wish though that I would have seen the Black super pred pics before I finished. Also I still like the AVP movies, i don't love them like Predator or Predator 2 but they're still enjoyable. Problem was AVP was too tame, and what was up with the horrendous lighting in Requiem, I would've actually liked it if not for the bad lighting

i actually don't get it, why is it that 30 yars ago the predator looked perfect and now it is to hard fror the studios we have seen from now( don't include KNB EFX), don't get it. They put to much animatronics in the mask for more movement but it just makes it worse.

well, believe me there are. Many of the artists that worked on predator are still in the bussines and almost every good professional sculptor could pull it off. I personally think the job is done to quick in many movies, what could damage the product.

thre is also a site called www.theeffectslab.com. were many artist show there work, and many of them arent even doing it as their work.
( you maybe need to search if you really want to see creatures of a quality as predator)

well, i wasent talking about a predator sculpt made on the site but just the quality of their work,
almost everyone who works in a special effects studio for big movies is capable in making a good predator, i am only not saying, that everything will look as good( movement).

AVP's problem is they thought they were BETTER than the original so thats why they changed it that was just an ego trip. AVP-R I don't really know their problem. This film from what I've seen looks pretty close to the original so hopefully once its on screen and moving it will look just like it. Since we haven't seen it the agruement is quite pointless at this point.

Anytime 2 might not be 100% the same as THE classic predator, but i honestly can't find the real differenes.

In the shot of one of the trailers where u see Anytime 2 unmasked, and people say he looks differend, thats just a quick shot of him with hiis mandibles in that position.
Just check the set pics of Anytime 2 with his mandibles wide open.
That's the same Anytime 2 pred but then with mandibles wide open, and he looks great !
As i said, he looks the same to me as Classic.
