Pretty much. This movie was so dull.

You know, I began to wonder, with the scenes involving King Bor and that... What would have been the origins and the story of the Asgardians? How did they began, how did they develop that marvelous technology, did they have competitors or there were other species or inhabitants of other planets?

It could be something as epic as The Lord of the Rings...

I would loved that there was a way to dig into this -for sure- big mythology in the MCU style. If they don't do a series about that, I would love an artbook or something explaining all this about Thor's civilization in the MCU :)

I'm sure Bane had the same affect on the people wanting to go see TDKR.

Nah, people simply wanted to see batman meet his physical match for the first time in ages. Bane didn't steal the show
, whereas Loki's presence completely overshadows Thor in this one. He just oozes with charisma.

So does anyone know what the deleted scenes are like?

Well, he did take notice of the first one. Maybe after that he was just distracted, trying to figure out what's going on in Asgard around him?

I dunno. Definitely something that could and should have been handled better (as could a bunch of things in this movie), but not movie-breaking.

Quote from: Nightmare Asylum on Feb 27, 2014, 02:39:40 PMSpeaking of Heimdall, I noticed a few people mention that they didn't really buy him not being able to see the Dark Elf ships approaching. It seemed to me, though, that throughout the entire film the Elves were beyond his gaze until they were literally right in front of him and in Asgard. I'd say that that makes sense (comic book movie sense, at least), seeing as they predate the entire known universe that Heimdall has access to.

They were still hovering over Asgard for a while after the attack. Should have been able to see them then. To me it just seems kind of weak that a being that can see through universe itself can't see something that's actually shimmering in the air. :-\

Or maybe the last part was just so the audience could see it, but still...

Just watched the movie again, and noticed something that I didn't the first time.

Spoiler
During Frigga's funeral, after her body is set aflame and we see her 'spirit' shoot up into the universe, we see Heimdall's gaze follow her and linger for a little bit. Makes we wonder if Heimdall was watching her go to Valhalla, and perhaps she could return in a potential Ragnarok scenario.

Actually it's more like saying Robin Hood Prince of Thieves would be less than average if it wasn't for Alan Rickman's scenery chewing performance as the Sheriff of Nottingham. There's really nothing ridiculous about the point Hubb's raised. He thinks that Tom Hiddlestone's Loki is a bright spark that elevates an otherwise dull and generic film.

Which unfortunately I also have to agree on. Loki has actually become the bigger crowd puller then Thor himself...

Completely agree with this. Bottom line if you remove Loki from this film there is nothing left

Well seeing as Loki is a part of the film, that's a pretty ridiculous argument. That's like saying that there'd be nothing left in Jurassic Park if you removed the dinosaurs, or that Star Wars would be a dumb farming movie if Obi-Wan wasn't written in.

I think they did Thor 2 mainly to showcase Loki again and sort of "redeem" him, and all the rest of the plot was something they took out from the sleeve without making a real effort.

Completely agree with this. Bottom line if you remove Loki from this film there is nothing left, it would be totally bland, boring and generic (it's half way there already).
