Avp 99 wins for me simply for being able to spawn marines and aliens and just watch them go at it.

AvP 3 shouldn't be on this list because it is obviously THE worst one, so it's not even fair for it to be there.

yet it's still beating 99's...

CoD kids.

you literally don't need anything more advanced than a computer from three years ago.

Soon, Ima try and get my hands on a computer that can play both the original PC games.
My old school computer could but it fried itself. Twice. Perhaps it suffered from a Win Overload.
Haven't played them since New Years Eve 2011. Was a grand old time, let me tell you.

Have to say I got a ton of enjoyment from the 8-it Electric Dreams version, not the arcade version (US) which was okay but the FPS version with the map. Held all the tension from the film at the time and the bonus map was a real bonus for setting atmosphere. :).

TRICK QUESTION! It was AVP for the Jaguar!

I kid, I still think AVP 99 is the best game of the franchise. AVP Jag would be tied for second place with AVP 2 though.  :)

From a technical standpoint, AvP2 was better.  Better graphics, weapons were more streamlined, more character interaction, an actual story.

But I still think that the 1999 game beats it.  With aliens popping up almost everywhere and humans shooting everywhere in panic when an enemy appeared, it really had this fun, chaotic nature to it.  Also, one thing which made that game more awesome than its sequel were the bonus levels.  I loved being able to retrace the the levels of other species, sometimes going in opposite directions or taking other paths.  I know that the story of AvP2 did not allow for this to specifically happen, but it's a terrible shame that they had no bonues stages whatsoever.  The Xenoborgs were a fun addition, and the combat always seemed more frenetic than in the sequal.

AvP for PS3 just didn't have the spark of the other games.  Repeatedly having humans facehugged or ripping out aliens' tongues got old after a while.  The storylines were way too short, and everything seemed so flat.  I've honestly only gone through the single player mode once, and I'm not too motivated to do it again.

Ok, that makes sense.  Nonrandom enemy spawnings also made it easier for me to beat the levels on Nightmare. :)

go check how big some of the levels in that game were. it could be minutes between a wave of enemies spawned and getting to encounter them.

there were also less and less complex props to get around.
