Its just with Chris though, I was really lazy and passed the Jill playthrough lolQuote from: Stalker on Apr 10, 2012, 04:35:20 AMSame here, though a friend and I played through it a month or so ago. Always fun. Beautiful too. They really let Shinji Mikami realise the perfect survival horror game, with no budget or technological limitations like the original RE which as a result plays very cheesy.
Hell yes, the Gamecube remake is legendary. I actually still have it along with the old console but haven't played in years.
That in my opinion is the definitive Resident Evil game. It has the atmosphere, the horror...and oh God the graphics. Even after 10 years those pre rendered environments still look gorgeous.

Also I just realized that RE2 & 3 are now available on PSN...time to go relive some classic memories.

Love those old games. And REmake, the pinnacle of RE horror IMHO

I rented ORC today, played the first 2 missions & just can't bring myself to continue. This game has no atmosphere, nothing that made me want to keep playing it. It's the very definition of average, unfortunately it has the Resident Evil title stamped on it.
The graphics & gameplay just aren't up to RE standards, the controls feel clumsy & the cover mechanics in particular are just awful. My biggest complaint would be that you fight WAY too many human enemies. It just doesn't feel like RE when you're taking cover & returning fire against spec ops all the time. They also take an insane amount of damage to kill- usually over an entire mag from an assault rifle is required to take down one man.
The story- from what I've played- also seems pretty flat. Aside from a few homages to the classic games this one fails to find its own identity. The fact you play as faceless, unrelatable Umbrella goons doesn't help either.
The only comfort I take is that this game was not made by Capcom, only Slant Six is to blame. I can't wait for Resident Evil 6 later this year to erase this bad memory. Also I just realized that RE2 & 3 are now available on PSN...time to go relive some classic memories.
