AvP Movie Alien Life Cycle

Below you’ll find a description of the different types of Aliens in AvP. It’s not as detailed as the Alien Life Cycle for the Alien movies. It’s more of a summary of the things in AvP. Also check out the Alien Abilities page to learn more about their abilities and attacks.

	Alien Eggs Electric shocks were given to the Queen Alien to force her to lay eggs. These were then transported around the pyramid. First at the Sacrificial Chamber and then again at the Egg Chamber. The Eggs themselves are the same as the ones in previous films. They even have the “light passing through the egg” effect. Predators can also use their vision modes to see the Facehuggers moving about in the Eggs.

	Facehuggers The Facehuggers first appear in the Sacrificial Chamber and facehug all the people there. Miller, Verheiden and Connors get facehugged when they are cocooned in the Egg Chamber. One of them manages to facehug the Scar Predator without him knowing about it. It also conveniently disappeared when Scar woke up. In terms of other movies, they don’t look any different to other Facehuggers.

	Chestbursters There are two Chestburster sequences in the film. The first is Rousseau’s and there’s a clear lack of any blood. The Chestburster looks a little different too here. (Maybe it’s the angle, I don’t know). The other Chestburster is the one that comes out of Sebastian. It’s seen through the Predator’s vision but when he catches it, there’s no blood on it whatsoever. (Director’s oversight again). It might be worth noting too that the Chestburster can still emerge from a host even if they’re dead (and if it’s well-developed enough already) as given by Sebastian and the Scar Predator.

	Predalien Chestburster The Scar Predator is facehugged when he removes his mask to mark himself but for some reason, doesn’t remember this nor has any idea that it’s in his chest. The other Predators don’t realise this either when they bring Scar’s body onto the ship. After they leave Scar to rest, the Predalien Chestburster emerges from Scar’s body. It’s a little bigger than a regular Chestburster but has similar jaws to a Predator.

	The “Grid” Alien The Grid Alien is one alien that stands out from the rest because of its grid-like pattern on its head – caused by a Predator’s net. The Grid Alien makes its first appearance by impaling the Gill Predator with its tail and then head-biting it. It also should be noted that Grid has a hugely long and powerful tail compared to any other alien. (Director’s oversight probably). The Grid then fights with the Celtic Predator. Part of its tail gets cut off and then tries to sneak up on the Predator but instead gets caught in its net. This is where it gets the marks on its head. The acid burns through the net and frees the alien. It pounces on Celtic and head-bites him. The Alien later frees the Queen Alien. I think it even becomes a commander of the other aliens because it has killed two Predators. Its last appearance is at the bottom of the shaft with Scar and Lex. It tries to jump onto the sled but falls off. Presumably, it is killed in the explosion.

	The Other Aliens There are countless other aliens in the film. Some Aliens drag Connors, Verheiden and Miller away to be cocooned. Another Alien is killed by Scar in one of the chambers, another is killed by Lex. Once Scar has his Shoulder Cannon, he kills a few more. Some of them free the Queen Alien. A few more surround Scar and Lex at the shaft and Lex kills one of them. Presumably, all the Aliens were killed by the self-destruct device. It’s worth noting, why didn’t any Aliens emerge with the Queen? Surely some of them would have followed her. As for a comparison to the previous Alien films, they’re more or less the same. They’re definitely smarter than the aliens in “Aliens”.

	The Queen Alien The Queen Alien has been kept frozen and chained up inside the pyramid for hundreds of years and the Predators force her to lay eggs by means of electric shocks. The Predators use the Aliens for hunting purposes. With the help of the other aliens, she breaks free from the chains and escapes from the pyramid just before the Predator’s self-destruct device goes off. She emerges from under the ice and a battle between the Queen and the Scar Predator takes place. Scar throws his shuriken and spear weapons at her and she knocks him out of the way with her tail. Lex fights her as well which in turn the Queen then chases after Lex. Scar appears and spears her. Lex then has the idea to tie her onto the water container and to push her into the icy sea. They manage to do that but the Queen manages to impale the Scar Predator with her tail, killing him. Lex then pushes the container off and the Queen falls into the ocean and it drags her down to the bottom. It’s very possible the Queen could still be alive. I mean, she survived hundreds of years of being frozen so I think it’s possible she could return one day.
