Current Status of AvP3
Alien vs Predator 3 is in the rumoured phase. We’ve heard nothing about another sequel since AvP Requiem was released. Producer John Davis mentioned in September 2008 that they’ve logically done all they can do with the AvP franchise.
“I think we’ve logically done what we could’ve done with the two AVP movies. But I think there’s something to go back to with Predator.” John Davis
In August 2022, as the new Predator film Prey had just been released, producer John Davis mentioned in an interview with Variety, what more they could do with Predator. AvP was mentioned for the first time in over a decade.
“Well, maybe there’s an origin origin story. Right? Maybe there’s another ‘Alien vs. Predator’ story in a different situation. And maybe there’s a new modern-day version. And maybe there’s something somewhere in between. I think this character can show up throughout history.” John Davis

Colin and Greg Strause
Colin and Greg Strause were adamant that they wanted to make Aliens vs Predator 3 when they were making AvP Requiem. They essentially wanted to make an AvP film in space, in the future but by the time they were hired, 20th Century Fox had already decided to go with Salerno’s script set on Earth. They incorporated elements of their ideas into the second film such as the Predator planet. ADI duo Tom Woodruff and Alec Gillis are also contenders for the director’s chair. Having worked on the alien special effects in each movie since Aliens, Tom Woodruff revealed in April 2008 that he and Alec Gillis had aspirations to direct AvP Requiem themselves.
AvP3 Cast
Nobody specific has been mentioned though it’s doubtful anybody who appeared in the first two AvP films would appear in the third.
AvP3 Storyline
The storyline for AvP3 is anybody’s guess. From the beginning, fans have wanted an Alien vs Predator film to take place in space far in the future. The Strauses had a few of their own ideas for a potential storyline. One of the ideas took place after Aliens and another one involved the Space Jockey creature seen in the original Alien. Of course, a movie set in space is costly and it’s obvious the studio doesn’t want to take the risk. If Alien vs Predator 3 does ever get the greenlight we could end up with another poor Earth-based setting. Shane Salerno also pitched a story to Fox where the Predator ship crashed in Afghanistan and the movie revolved around a special forces team.
I have been a fan of both franchises, since Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) & “Dutch” (Arnold Schwarzenegger) hit the big screen. I have always found both story lines to be interesting, so when they combined them it was a match made in gorified heaven. I cannot get enough & I hope the world is with me? Everyone has their right to be opinionated, so I would like to announce I enjoyed AVPR. I think it was just a prelude for a film, or films that could be so magnificently mind blowing. Yes, I would love for the next film to take its rightful place in space. That would be only right & what we the consumers (fans) have been waiting for all these years to invest & ingest in all of its glorious splendor. To be left with the fondest of AVP memories, but you are right that would be costly. AVPR shows that it was only the beginning of a new age. The government now has new tech that should open the door for a magnitude of weaponry. This would not happen overnight, so AVP3 should be pushed well into the future. That being said… Who’s saying that it needs to go to space yet. The next one could stay on a war stricken fully weaponized extremely riddled earth. Aliens & Predators could have used our planet as a battleground & now there is only pockets of hidden Homo sapiens left. We are no longer the dominate force on the planet & have been forced underground. We are being hunted for breeding, sport, & just being in the their way, but one thing these creatures have forgot. This is our damn planet & we have heart, pride, & most of all the will to overcome.
If they do make AvP 3 it needs to be way better than requiem.
They need better actors and better story.
Thay left AVP2s ending open for a AVP3. So they bloody better make a AVP3 with better graphics and more blood and different aliens.
The stroyline should progress to AVP3 if only is good enough and with a new strong dose of high alien technology,Creative scenario and most importantly awesome graphics also very good actor plays.
Also letting the guys at ADI direct just because they have experience working on the films is the most idiotic thing I’ve heard. We’ve seen what they do to the design when left to their own devises. Get a real filmaker who has respect for the original films and AVP comics.
The Producers at Fox handling this franchise are completely devoid of any creativity or talent. Short sided morons. They really need to get someone involved who knows how to make a good film and then LEAVE THEM THE FUCK ALONE.

I think there’s definitely a lot of room for a new installment.wouldn’t it be great that most of the story indeed is out of space,but take some of Nolan’s character and have hem narrate some of the previous hunts on earth and on the game planet of the predators.you could also tie in other findings that’s plausibly denied like dead cattle,the predators chopped off arm in a los Angeles alley by Danny Glover’s character,ancient pictures of anubis in egypt directing civilization,crop circles, area fucking 51 and Vietnam human trophies.and yes bring in some bad bitches,example let sannaa lathan have a cameo as Danny Glover’s niece,bring back Ripley as the new head of wayland/ utani and bring in cloaked aliein in human form ala species ,she’s also hunting and mating and survival of the fittest resources are now limited.introduce a female predator ,she’s bigger and revered by all clans she hunts but her primary objective would be to mate because of depleting clans ,yautja and let them show how the war began.spacejockey instigating the bio war between aliens ,predators and pulling the plug on the human race because we are Shit and continue alienating and destroying ourselves.that’s a fucking story,we’re all gonna die.
some you guys i dont think know much about aliens preds stories and background. read some novels and graphic novels, or the comics. they are great. and show a much wider range and detail the movies just have never tried to show people or dont have time to.
To the guy kumar saying “it would be awesumm if the predators revived the mother from the antarctica and experiment on it in their planet” do you mean the queen alien that got pulled to the depths of the sea? if so they dont need to do that and know they can make another when they need to, (it was them who left it there, i think they know enough about them lol) they already have other queens around their empire ready to make more prey to hunt. most the people taking over these movies dont seem to do very deep research for ideas or just dont have a very good imagination or are willing to spend the time and money doing much with the universe like they could.
i bet u would find most would just change there mind last minute and they would rather go for a completly different alien movie where they dont have to stick to any certain story etc and make it faster and cheaper. sad but true. and thats why it will be harder for us real fans to see more of these in future
I think dude has the right idea. But also any mention of the jokeys. Watch Prometheus it explains a lot on the history of the aliens. I think they should create a fresh story line.

Today it’s a kind of normal to end some of these movies with a twist that looks like it would come an sequel, but most of the time it wont come anything.. Or maybe it was a purpose that an sequel would come, but if the score ain’t higher than 9/10 -sorry, that was for all the cancelled TV series. They are definitive with cliffhangers then…
But it’s all about the money, movies or TV.
Of course, they would need something back after one movie, if it’s not dead end. It’s kind of sad, because one bad movie wouldn’t say that the next one would be bad as the first one.
But my opinion is that these movies of Aliens and Predators, and both together, they all thrilling and a lot of action in. Personally I love these movies. So a third AVP would be cool :-)
The movie should take place on the planet from the game to.this time make it so the aliens win that would be cool.but if the creators do put humans in they should bring back ripply.they still better make the alien win thow.
Also the ending should be the hole army of aliens and predators fighting with 6 and lord fighting to.
No humans but the main alien should be specimen 6 and the main predator should be the predator you play as. They are both from the avp 3 game. That would make for a epic movie. I’m a huge avp fan. Them making a third would blow my mind.

I think AVP 3 should connect to predators, because it would be pretty cool to have not only predator and alien, but a more advanced predator, adding a new enemy to the story.
I would also like to see an epic war. Something like an alien planet being attacked by predators.
In my opinion I think the third film should be set on lv426 in the future kind of like the hunt has gone wrong
Am I the only one that wants to see an epic war? For the third film, I’d love to see thousands of predators vs hundreds of thousands aliens. Let the fight scene be 20 minutes long and let’s use some cgi to have both species move better- not so stiff and slow.

I honestly don’t see why the first film could not be set in space.
You could have used the same story and the scenes in the pyramid would have remained the same.
Space marines would be in it instead if those corporate bodyguards and a Bishop android too.
That said, I enjoyed both movies (but the BR and DVD release of avpr was tinted terribly dark).
I woul’d love to see AVP3 this was one of my best alien-predator combination movie,especially the first one was a hit,so pls consider the 3rd one and I know it will be awsome in 3D.

In the begging of the movie the predators have a competition with humans but end making a mistake by putting the newly evovled species of aliens into their hunting ground and now the predators have to stock their prey (humans, aliens) and not be.the prey themselves
I think the avp 3 movie should be in the predators home world, and in the future because in avp requim the humans confiscated the predator’s advanced weapon (plasmtha blaster). the humans evolved their weapons to be able to have a competition with the predators as their prey. Also, aliens have taken over the predators world so not only the humans have to worry about advanced predators now they have to worry about a newly evolved alien species
I think it should still take place in space, but with no colonial marines. My reason being is that people might be mor focused on the marines then the alien /predator battles. The humans would seem to powerful against the 2 most dangerois species in the galaxy. Another thing they could do is explain a backstory for the space jockey. Maybe they created aliens to conquer or destroy worlds as soldiers. So then the jockeys arrive on the predator homeworld and an epic fight goes down between thousands of aliens and hundreds of predators which might explain why there ar hardly any predators left.

there needs to be a legit avp movie the previous ones were a waste of film… needs to take place after pred two and alien 4 in having marines and weyland tied into it, having them in a middle of one pred or two hunting the aliens marines are fighting against while weyland trying to capture for weps division. humans unaware of pred presence in their bughunt are caught being hunted by the pred as well etc etc… needs to take place in space…no “homeworlds” maybe another infected weyland outpost. needs suspense and build up and story should be shot in the marines point of view not multiple point of views which takes out the suspense as story unfolds. pred should not be fully visible till near end of the movie like in pred 1-2. to include riply is (optional)since she is fucked up personality wise as a clone but references could be made about riply’s encounters dutches and haragan the cop encounters

Personally I like the comic book version of AvP battle of three worlds. Understandably making the film in outer space in the distant future is expensive, but when it hits the big screen the income would be incredible. There has to be the risk of making it big or go home. Star Wars was a giant risk, no one could have predicted it would do so good. Also there can be a better back story of how promithious is involved. Like maybe the predators commissioned the engineers to make the perfect pray.
it would be good if the aliens elvoved like in aliens colonial marines and a group of predators came like the celtic one and the wolf one you know all of them

I’d personally like it to be based on, say, some of the AvP comics. With a simple plot line that goes like this:
Predators hunt for trophies and honour. The most prized trophies are those of Xenomorphs, Humans and the beasts known as Gro’Tye ( from AvP Extinction. Look it up on the wiki ). Predators find a planet with a population of 10 Gro’Tye ( one of them has decimated a large clan single-handedly ) and notice that a relatively large colony of about 2 to 3,000 humans is growing and building, 1,000 of which are Colonial Marines assigned to protect the colony. They also notice that a hive of Xenomorphs is slowly growing, using humans and fauna as hosts. All three on one planet? Sounds too good to be true! The Ancient on the ship sees a unique opportunity to host the biggest, most dangerous and most thrilling hunt that ever was and ever will be. He contacts other clans and decides to host a joint hunt with 2 other powerful clans. On the whole, their numbers make about 500 Predators. One group of four Predator Youngbloods are eager to prove themselves worthy of the mark and plan on luring out and killing a lone Gro’Tye. To oversee a large hunting party is a Blooded Predator named Chopper ( he was not actually killed in the temple but was blinded by Grid in one eye by the headbite and attempted to return to the surface, killing numerous Xenomorphs along the way. ) who desires to kill a Queen alien like how he heard his brother Scar did, with the assistance of a Blooded Human. On the surface a Marine squad is assigned to an atmospheric processor to protect the group of scientists and engineers working there when Xenomorph runners and drones attack the site and kill 4 marines and all the scientists. The remaining Marines fall back in a dropship and bear witness to the drop pods that just so happen to contain the Youngbloods. The pilot hovers over the landing site for a few seconds and notices a red laser sight climb coming from the crater climb up his chest…

I didnt even know there was a avp 2 im watching it right now on my dvr and I keep rewinding it its that good they can do so much still with this francise the way it ended is the way it should start hands use the preditors weapons and devlop on them upgread them.to fight the prediters come back.to kill the ones who took there weapons startin a high tech war
I view the 2010 AVP videogame on XBOX/PS3/PC to be the third story in the AVP franchise. It was really well done.
I understand stsnd why people want humans out of the picture but thats bad story telling seeing as avp2 follows the story of avp1 in which both are on earth. I would like to see less humans and way more fight scenes between the creatures the story could also follow the predators film in which aliens could be dropped of on that reserve planet and build off that story some way…..all in all i would like to see another film.
How can they claim they’ve done all that can be done with the franchise?!? just goes to show that the people with no imagination are the people in control. The reason its called Scy-fy / fantasy is becuase there are limitless possibilities restricted only by your imagionation.
Here I’ll make a deal, try opening up your mind and I’ll actually pay to see your films rather than seeing great quality films for totally free, but we all know that won’t happen.
So, Futuristic (say around the Colonial marine era), Spacie (like say involve space travel hint hint), Alien Planet / Planetssss (basically not EARTH!!)

None of this “space set films are very costly” rubbish. It worked for alien, aliens, star wars, star trek and many many more so don’t even try to use that excuse because all I say is your full of it.

AVP 3 should be made, but this time make the story solely based on the two different species, people are sick and tired of the movies basing themselves on the humans rather than the alien and predators. At most the humans should be just a side note in the third movie, and i think a way for them to bring back all the fans is to up the scale a bit and make it as maybe a prequel to the first and second one showing the very beginning of the war between these two legendary species because thats all we care about, not what these douchebag humans do to stay alive ,but rather the epic hunt these three man squad of predators do to an overwhelming number of aliens.
AvP has so much potential I grew up on the the original alien and predator movies and when the announcement of Alien vs Predator was in production I was super stoked and was greatly disappointed with the first installment and even more so with the second…. a third Alien vs Predator would be awesome but needs to surpass the first 2,
less human contact sure have a couple in there as they wer in the comics but cannot be the basis of the movie it needs to be set on a remote planet withvthe various alien creatures from the comics along with the armies of predators along with some planetary creatures( not aliens but rather unknown creatures) there are endless possibilities but the right group of writers and directors need to get together and make it happen!!!!
