Its close, the shot I'm reffering to is facing the right backside of the costume in the same pose. My partner and i saw while flipping through the book in barnes and noble and thought it was a bit odd.

Now, getting back on topic , I hadn't noticed this so far, but apparently some of the big heads and statues weren't seen in the film:

Now that you mention it, he does look a lot like an elf that's getting on a bit. Could he be related to Haldir?

Should have marketed this as a LOTR's flick instead.
lol this film begins as a sequel to Prometheus, then in an unexpected twist it turns into a Lord of the Rings flick, to finally become an Alien movie
I mean what the hell? even when a hooded David was leading the crew at the woods toward the citadel, It was like seeing Legolas and the Fellowship of the Ring in a Middle-earth adventure.

It makes sense if you want to go with the irrational android angle, but the scientific angle does not make sense.
It's almost as if David was specifically created to emulate "humans" to a degree (and to surpass them in many ways), and was given emotions, amongst which was a love of art..
It's almost as if you didnt pay attention to these films.
It's almost as if you came right out of the imdb forums.
Why not?
David is a scientist, so it only makes sense for him to stretch out what he wants for his final results. And to have for reference I suppose.
YES PLEASE.
I'm a slut for sketchy stuff and concept art.
I'd so f**king buy it.
I think it would be cool if Fox released a book that was similar to Frankenstein's notebook. It could have diary entries and all of the concept art that was shown in his workshop.

I thought for sure that this was an animatronic version of what's on the cover of the concept art.

The left arch looks curiously like a Xeno head too...
Does anyone else has ever seen this design of the cathedral?
The structure seems to show some kind of religious symbolism. At the gates you can see two female figures with a very biblical look. Also, there are two other human figures on the Wall. I'm getting a very Ancient Greek vibe.
Maybe it's not too late for the Space Jesús! (jk)

Böcklin's work of course wasn't an issue since it's all in the public domain now.
Giger's version is one of the many paintings out there inspired by the original Arnold Böcklin painting of the 1800s. I think Giger's came out in the 70s?
Also I still wish they had based that scene more on his painting's aesthetic rather then the original one. Alas.

Those concept matte paintings have a very Lord of the Rings/Isengard feel.
The pulse rifles were likely just place holders Jeremy put in the ammo locker. Was probably someone else's job to design the weapons and if those 3D models weren't available yet then he would have just grabbed something off the internet instead of wasting time modelling stuff from scratch.
Some cool new VFX concept art from Wayne.

That hard surface design stuff from Jeremey is freaking bad ASS!! Love it! True industrial design craftsmanship.
Great sculpting by Gabriel as well, but I simply can´t except this to be a chestburster. Anyway, great job done by the artists.

This is amazing. I'm curious, should I buy the one you posted here, or should I do this one?: https://www.amazon.com/Alien-Covenant-Official-Collectors-Titan/dp/1785861921/ref=pd_sim_14_1?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=1785861921&pd_rd_r=5J9QJWGSKFGV5YEF8YHS&pd_rd_w=w8RWt&pd_rd_wg=LDpPq&psc=1&refRID=5J9QJWGSKFGV5YEF8YHS
Is there any significant difference between the two? I mean, I'll probably end up getting both eventually; but I'm still curious as to why they released two different behind-the-scenes books.
Shit tonne more of Covenant artwork from Steve Burg. Thanks to Willie Goldman for the link.
And some more.

This was the radically advanced puppeteering rig they couldn't get the bugs worked out for in time, which I asked Conor O'Sullivan about on camera, for my Alien Day report.
They only had a certain number of weeks to not only design, but construct and test it. It wasn't enough. There were a small number of flaws they just didn't have tihe time to fix.
I'm guessing that all the shots we've seen of the Alien with these ultra-thin limbs were actually of this unused puppeteering rig, rather than whatever it was they went with. Can't say I'm a fan, given how thin those limbs look, but it apparently moved amazingly.
