Second edition announced! Last Stand is a new single player mode. The wargame is called Unleashed, also there's an upgrade pack if you're already got the first edition and don't want to buy a new set.
All due March 17th. Have to say, I'm really liking the looks of the second edition.
I'll front page this at some point over the next few days.

aliens - black undercoat , bronze and silver dry brush, black or purple wash(depending on preference) ardcoat dome for that nice glossy finish.
marines- i used a light flesh tone for the camo then sepia washed over the top, olive drab type colour for armour , used darker flesh tone for skin. (my marines were the first i painted and were not very good.
predator i been experimenting with the skin tones , doing a lot of layers to try get the reptile like skin tones.
WY commands were a nightmare to do in white, i undercoated black, drybrushed white, painted armour white, black washed, then painted the highlights back in ( took ages but looks good) i used various different greys for the straps etc and gun metal for the face shield.
power loader was the worst to do ( i found so anyway) undercoat black, painted yellow, black washed ten painted yellow highlights back in , painted metal for hydraulic pipes, dry brushed metal skuff marks, marine as per others. i would advise tho, if you can, paint power loader in parts as its very difficult to get into arms well once built.
Rules 2.0 are out.

What did they ever do to you?
They fought for your country, dammit!
Go and buy a $2.50 bag of of those shitty little plastic soldiers and practice your skills on those. No one cares if you mess them up.

Here, these little arseholes will make perfect guinea pigs for your budding painting talents and torture.

Looks like there's green and silver available. Always go for the lighter colour - silver in this case. It will more easily match the white figures you already have.
Normally, it's advisable to wash the figures first with some soapy water to get rid any grease and detritus that may be adhering to them. Them rinse 'em again. Then you can start with a light base colour and add darker details on top. Using shitty little test subjects like these means you can experiment on them as much as you like - and f**king them over is half the fun! Draw dicks and swastikas on them, too, if you like. No one will care how you treat 'em.
The last thing you want to do is start working on your good figures and mess them up if you are not ready to do so regardless of any techniques people give you. Like a lot of things in life, you will want to practice and learn. Shitty toys can be fun to paint, too! Mess around with colour schemes you would normally be averse to using and practice, practice, practice until you know the result you get is the desirable one.
Then - and only then - will you be ready to seriously apply coatings to those Aliens and stuff you got there.

the aliens are a doddle to paint, i hated doing my powerloader, took me soooooo long to do and get it to stage i am happy with. i enjoyed painting the predators the most tho. good luck tho
40mm - predators, power loader, predalien
50mm - queen ... not sure about the rest as these are the models i have, it states on bottom of stat cards if that helps

Sorry, not the greatest pictures in the world. I started putting my stuff together today. Just the Stalkers and one Predator left to do. Planning on ordering some Sulaco bases to put them on and then take a wack at painting.
like hicks said , dont throw them about and you will be fine, the tails are pretty fragile and the powerloader too (had to reglue the arm back on 3 times) but if treat them with care then you will be fine, the detail is outstanding so its a trade off IMO of detail Vs robustness.
we played the skirmish modes and also just made death match games ourselves, tend to miss the out the missions as i play it with 4-6 players, but i have enough models painted differently to make it that there is 2 distinct squads/clans/breed for each faction, the missions we have played have varied greatly tho , trying different tactics and the luck of the rolls
They're not something you want to be throwing around. Usual 8mm kind of models.
We were playing the boardgame version with the missions in the rulebooks. So only several panels of hived terrain. I've only played a few games so I'm not to full grips with it yet.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it. How difficult are the models to put together, in your opinion? Did you need anything special like glue or a small knife or anything like that? I would love to read an in-depth review from you.
a very good game tho once you get your head around the wording of the rules, not played with much of the add ons as was more concerned with just getting the base game rules sorted in my head.
Who did you play as Hicks?
I'm curious to know others opinions of the base starters for the Aliens. The Infants and Stalkers are vastly underpowered in my opnion. I played several games, different missions and such with just the base game, nothing added, and I was blown off the table in almost all of those. It wasn't until I was able to get the Warriors, Crusher and Praetorian that I stood a better chance and actually won a few games.
So I finally played a game last night. We used the tokens as the figures weren't put together and it took us an hour to setup and read through the rules. I actually really enjoyed it. As it was our first game we were talking through everyones moves quite a lot and it was really interesting. It prompted me to actually go through and sort all the pieces out properly. I'm really keen to get the figures together and play some more.
I'm more curious now as to how the APC will look.
So they're working on a Dropship and APC.
And all of the recent report:

Not really keen on this.
No. I mean, I post in the facebook group everywhile, and get the same curt non-apologies that everyone else gets.
I was defending Prodos for a good long while, but even my patience turns sour eventually. Still hoping to get and enjoy the game, but what should have been a great and wonderful thing has been marred considerably by not just the wait, but also Prodos' mishandling of every aspect of the communication process.
I have 300+ miniatures on the way so I can wait.....because I don't think I'm going to be starting them anytime soon, anyway :/ hell. I still need to find a place I'm going to put all the little bastards while they are packed up, let alone once they are made.
I'm not annoyed about being last to get my stuff - someone's got to be last, after all, and it may as well be me. But last should have meant getting my models a year and a half ago.
I'm very torn between not wanting the game to go away, because the models are excellent and I don't know that anyone else would do as good of a job with those, and between wanting Prodos to go away so that someone competent can take over the license.
i follwed it but never backed due to poor student status, although it appears it was to a benefit as i got the game quicker than some backers :-/
I generally copy them from the Facebook group.
Interesting indeed. I'm curious as to whether or not the Dropship and APC will be to scale with the other models like the vehicle models are to scale with the human/marine/creature models of Warhammer 40k for example. I'm hoping for that at least.
Also ready to see some table top wargame rules to come out, I know they're working on them. I've been building tons of terrain just for it!
