Also, I have a strange, far out theory that I don't think I've seen mentioned yet about Vickers:

    Spoiler

She's an android. A prototype, like Ash, more advanced than David. Having David be the bad guy is just too damn obvious, since they've tried to make him very creepy with the Weyland Industries promotional video, and have succeeded  I mean really, to be creepier than Lance Henriksen?! You win one Internets and a basket of kittens.  David's been promoted as so eerie and creepy that you'll just be waiting for him to "pull an Ash" and betray everyone on behalf of the Company (and you know that train is never late).  So I think Vickers is an android and will be the Ash/Burke and David will turn out to be the good guy.

    Call me crazy.....my shrink does.

I don't think Vickers is an android. It wouldn't make sense to have 2 androids at different levels.

Not only that, Ridley has stated that he's not interested in rehashing a twist that's been done already.  That's why David was revealed to be an android from the very beginning.

Charlize mentioned that her character starts opening up more towards the end.  She's just somebody who wants to do her job and she's cold on the surface but she's ultimately very human underneath.

I'm new so as not to offend anyone, my comment will be a spoiler:

    Spoiler

I watched the clip and enjoyed the parallels between Vickers and Ripley in Alien, with both of them trying to keep the ship free of contamination.  Vickers, of course, seems to be colder and have much more authority than Ripley did, but Ripley was prepared to make the hard choices, even though, as insinuated, she may have been romantically linked to Dallas.

I think that the movie is going to be very good by not being a duplicate of Alien, but there will be "echoes" where we know the  danger facing them, and watch them walk right into it anyway.

Alfred Hitchcock (I think) once said the difference between shock and suspense is that you can show a man on a bus, and suddenly the bus explodes, and that's shock.  But if you show the man on the bus, then the bomb, then people boarding the bus, the suspense builds, the audience gets tense.

Since this is clearly an Alien prequel, but it appears that the biology of the alien is different and there's no classic face huggers to be seen as of yet, we know that  they're walking into something.  Something bad that's going to turn into Alien.

Its Holloway. It seems to me the storm is probably their first trip out.Maybe holloway gets a slow infection. But in one clip i actually saw holloway saving shaw  from the storm with no apparent infection.Im betting thats their first return from the temple or holloway may be infected when hes back on the ship.Them beating the storm except for shaw and the return with vickers and her flame thrower prove at least 2 trips.

Loathing Vickers is toasting somebody who has his arms stretched, and in the last picture we see mutated Holloway walking up the ramp he's got his arms stretched, so It gotta be him.

It must be the mohawk guy that is holding Shaw down.

Hope Shaw beheads that f**king bitch with that axe in the end after she "deals" with the engineer, or after the engineer deals with her...
Yeah, she should let whoever it is back on the ship so he can infect the others.  It might be too late at that point but she doesn't know it yet.
    Sacrifice one to save many?
    or
Let person live and potentially have everyone die?

---- in complete agreement,  Vickers is the hero here as I see it.  She is Captain and has to make hard choices for the sake of everyone,  no one is saying that she has to like it.

I am a bigger fan of Vickers then Shaw,  Shaw is no Ripley..

Coming out of this,  while I am not sure how anyone could survive given they have no ship,  I want Vickers to be the one who walks away from this one and maybe gets to stick around for another movie

That's just so strange that it's Holloway.  I don't understand the timing.  I swear in that scene he was the one screaming as Shaw and that other lady were helping him back to the ship.

So that was apparently on the first trip out, then everythings cool and they go bone, then he goes back out when more people get jacked up/infected, and Vickers gets all 'he's a creeper ass alien mutant spy, and he's gonna screw our entire ship' and lights him up?

No spoilers, please, just a general nod to whichever direction applies if you feel like replying.

Maybe right after the screaming he goes nuts and start doing stuff to the rest,
it would explain why Shaw is on the ground.
Probably because her lover hit her to the ground or something.

    Spoiler
I'm fairly sure I deduced that it was Milburn from the International Launch trailer. I think it one version you're able to slow it right down and you can see his name on the helmet. Or at least, if you slow it right down, the name on the top of his helmet has too few characters to spell Holloway. I thought this was obvious.

Excellent.. but dis timing, still so wacky...

But I don't want to put that much together, honestly.

Thinking like smart people, here, we have to first admit that Ridley isn't going to release jack shit that spoils jack shit.  He's probably just having a blast with the little bits and pieces they've arranged and rearranged to permanently send inquisitive fans into fits of confusion.

We're all still apparently trying to make sense of the trips out and back, and how what we think we know can fit together in some sort of logical, and timely, progression...

That is a great shot of Holloway there.

    Spoiler
It begs the question what is a difference between individual mutations. From the dark veins appearing inside him, he has the same infections as the Engineer shown in the full trailer. My opinion is that this is evidence against the Holloway turning into SJ theory since the Jockeys were not immune to this infection.

There may be be four trips to pyramid/ship.

    Spoiler

    1. Initial exploration
    2. Second exploration (against Vickers wishes with Ford present and Holloway's infection)
    3. Third exploration (possibly to ship with Ford's demise and the loss of David)
    4. The final visit by Shaw to battle whatever is out there ( I am betting that Vickers perishing from the falling debris, kind of an ironic death for one proclaiming that Prometheus was her ship)

Zombie Holloway has a cool sound. :)  F*cking awsome, how he look like, and acting the infected.

This is from the Origin featurette video, he is so wrong when he took off his helmet. :)

    Spoiler
I think there is a second trip to the pyramid/ship, because Ford is still alive when they bring Holloway back to the Prometheus,  she die in the pyramid, maybe they go back to Fifield and Milburn, and they meet the Enginier, probably on the first trip they just found the snake look like alien, what was done whit Fifield and Milburn.

A better look at the individual. Caught during a buffer on my player. I don't see his beard on either image. Sure this is Holloway?  Does he lose his hair as a result of the infection?

Yeah - that could be anybody. He doesn't have the typical scruff on his face.

BTW - there is a download link  there with a download button if you wanted to snatch it. Othewise the IMDB player is best.

It seems Hollaway is burned at the stake right after he gets back to the ship.. That would mean he turns into the arm stretched weirdo that likes to walk into a flame thrower. Lol.

Question is at which time out is this ?

Quote from: thecaffeinatedone on May 17, 2012, 01:25:25 AM
Or, an alternate theory: Shaw is raped/infected by Holloway at some point after Weyland is revealed...Shaw stumbles out bloody, falls to knees and sees weyland...Holloway escapes and heads off to make a pilgrimage to the temple. Weyland does too....they retrieve a delusional Holloway and he gets torched?

    EDIT:

Oh, hell, I don't think that makes much sense either  :-\
Thats very possible about the rape or maybe just sex and then she is wounded or sick and finds Weyland,
but before that there is another team with Holloway,Fifield,Milburn and some others like that woman Kate dicikie (or whats her name) and they left without Shaw for some devious reason.
But then shit happens in the temple and they get fck up.
Thats the only way i can see how Fifield is also infected that fast.
And the Ridley can have is moment of shock because Vickers will burn Holloway without remorse.
    Something like that?

    Just watched the trailer again.

It does look like Fifield holding Shaw down, and it's hard to see but I'm not sure his head is shaped quite right.

That being said, we know the rest of the landing party is in that scene.  I don't think they'd stand around letting Fifield bum rush Shaw.
  17. MrSpaceJockey
In that case, I hope I'm wrong.

I really have to stop watching all these videos.  But seeing Vickers as such a badass burning some poor fella to protect her ship really excites me for her character, and what'll she be like.

I think the biggest mystery is the urns and how they fit into all this.
The urns are prisons for the universes most dangerous criminals, irregardless of species. The giant head is just the Wardens sly attempt at humor. Clearly that snake thing is a raper of men.

    lol
lol. I must say though that the space jockey's do seem to have a penchant for engineering organisms that rape a person's face.

No i correct myself its Shaw on the ground the other one is holding Shaw down for some reason,
the guy walking up the ramp is Holloway.
    No doubt about it.

Took an extra look and I'm gonna have to agree with Shaw being the one on the ground, although the pic quality is crap

    http://i47.tinypic.com/scrzg3.jpg

So, is she being hold down because she wants to stop Holloway? If that's the case, is Holloway essentially walking towards Vickers knowing fully well what she'll do? A kind of 'assisted suicide'?
That's defnitely shaw being held down, but who is holding her down? David?
