Horror movie news website Bloody Disgusting has posted something very interesting. They claim that Ian Whyte (AvP, AvP Requiem) will be playing one of the Engineers in Prometheus. It is rumoured that we will see multiple Engineers and it’s no secret that the beings are massive. I’m just a bit surprised we didn’t hear about this sooner.

In Twentieth Century Fox’s Prometheus, arriving in theaters June 8, one of these Space Jockeys is referred to as “The Engineer”. While there are said to be multiple engineers, Bloody Disgusting can exclusively report that Ian Whyte will portray one of them. He will soon be referred to as our “creator” or “God”… Whyte also worked in costume as the Predator in both Alien vs. Predator films. We’ll hopefully have more soon as there are quite a bit of interesting rumors surrounding this casting. We’ll work on confirming before we report back.

In other news, there’s a new interview with Charlize Theron over on TotalFilm. She says she plays the villain in the film and you’ll find out she has an agenda in the third act. There’s another interview with writer Damon Lindelof on LA Times. He doesn’t give much away, unfortunately.

A few days ago we received the latest glimpse at director Ridley Scott’s highly awaited sci-fi project Prometheus. The studio has kept details under wraps, but that hasn’t stopped Slovakian concept artist, Rado Javor, to create some undoubtedly amazing and creative fan-art for the film. We now present you an exclusive look at his last and most human related fan-art work. This time Rado shows us the Prometheus ship entering a very Alien-esque and yet very dreamy world. Make sure to check out the image in full resolution below:

“This is my fourth painting inspired by Prometheus, you can now see how close my guess was to the actual ship design from the film. The painting was done before the teaser trailer got released and this was my vision of the Prometheus ship. The Scene shows some ancient orbital dockyards near a Space Jockey planet, this is the first encounter of the human explorers with alien technology.” Rador told us.

You can find the rest of his Prometheus fan-art pieces at his deviantArt account here. Let us know your thoughts on his artwork in the forums.

Help us fight the Aliens Infestation! Scattered throughout all the website of AvPGalaxy there are various images depicting all main stages of the Alien life cycle. We have been infested with Alien eggs, facehuggers, chestbursters and more. All you need to do to help is find those slippery images and send them to us so we can terminate the infestation once for all. Otherwise we will have to nuke the website from orbit…

If you succeed in this task, you will enter for a chance to win some very cool Alien Infestation buttons. All thanks to the people at Sega. The buttons show several Alien life forms and Colonial Marines fighting for their lives in iconic environments. We have 12 sets of 4 buttons each to giveaway. This is your chance to win this rare item!

How it works: Listed below you will find the five simple steps that you need to follow.

  • Be a registered member of AvPGalaxy.
  • Find all 4 images showing the main stages of the Alien life cycle. They can be found anywhere in the main site and look like this. Also make sure NOT to target our Colonial Marines or Space Jockey fellow friend in the process!
  • Have you found them yet? Send the images (or links) to us along with your username to ikarop@avpgalaxy.net. Make sure to put Aliens Infestation in the subject of the e-mail.
  • First come, first served basis. The first 12 people to submit a valid entry will win the prize. The competition will be open for six days and be closing Saturday afternoon, December 31st. The winners will be announced on December 31st.

Let us know if you have any questions. Good luck!

Update: The competition is now closed.

There’s a lot of intricate details contained within the teaser trailer so I thought it was worth doing an analysis of the thing for everybody to read. Here’s my Prometheus Teaser Trailer Analysis. It’s just my take on everything we’ve seen and how the scenes might fit together. I’ve tried to put the scenes in some sort of chronological order of when they happen in the movie. There’s still a huge amount we don’t know about the film so hopefully some scenes will become clearer when more media is released.

Once again, it’s just my opinion, and not necessarily fact.

The Prometheus teaser trailer is now available to stream and download in 1080p HD on Apple. It runs for 1 minute 9 seconds and it’s almost exactly the same as the leaked trailers we’ve seen recently. Still, this time, it is in crystal clear HD. Very reminiscent of the early teaser for the original Alien. I’ve uploaded over 40 1080p caps to the gallery.

So what did you think of it? Loved it? Hated it? Post your opinion in this thread. And don’t forget to check out our Prometheus board. There’s a tonne of things in this teaser for fans to theorize over. Thanks to JaaayDee for the news.

We’ve got another new image from Prometheus, this time coming from movie magazine Total Film:

Trying to get a high quality version of this from Fox. Thanks to Wmmvrrvrrmm for the image.

The third and final promo video has been released. It’s available to watch on Apple. As before, it shows off some new shots from the film as well as behind-the-scenes shots. You see a clearer shot of the mutant (?) jumping over a vehicle towards a character. As a sidenote, we knew Weyland Yutani would have a role in the film. In one of the behind-the-scenes shots, a crew member is wearing a shirt that says Weyland Corp. It was Weylan-Yutani in Alien and then later changed to Weyland-Yutani in Aliens. You can find caps of the new video in the gallery.

Here’s the direct download links: 480p | 720p | 1080p. Stay tuned for tomorrow when Apple post the teaser trailer in HD. Thanks to JaaayDee for the news.

Thefilmstage.com has just posted up what appears to be a cam recording of the Prometheus trailer currently being shown at movie theatres all over the world. The video lasts for one minute and basically shows a very similar and yet better quality version of the previously seen trailer, still not in full HD. An official, and perhaps different, high quality version of the trailer will be premièring on iTunes Movie Trailers this Thursday, December 22nd.

If you can’t wait until then, you can watch the video at their website by clicking the image below or here:

Those of you in the US will be able to see the Prometheus trailer a little earlier than the rest of us. It will be attached to David Fincher’s The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo which hits theatres today in the US and Canada. Somebody on Twitter has actually posted a picture of the trailer reel and it clocks in at 1m9s long.

Thanks to Space Jockey King and ikarop for the news.

Not quite the trailer, but 20th Century Fox have just released a first look video of Prometheus on Apple. It’s basically a 30 second behind-the-scenes teaser. Ridley Scott says the film will be ‘epic’. Not just in terms of sets but also the ideas the film introduces. The video shows some shots with Ridley directing on set as well as some new shots from the movie. According to the video, the trailer will be online Thursday.

You can find over 40 shots from the video in the Gallery. Thanks to Darkoo for the news.

Update: Seems there’s another first look video with completely different footage: 480p | 720p | 1080p. I think this one was intended to go live tomorrow so we may have another promo on Wednesday too. The highlights include someone looking at a massive holographic solar system, the Ampule room and something crashing onto a planet.
