I wouldn’t normally post something like this. It’s news about upcoming news but it seems promising:

“We are very passionate and committed to the Aliens project. I feel that it’s a dream project to be able to spend time in that space with the brand. The progress is exciting and I do not expect that it will be very long now before Sega and Fox and Gearbox all come together to update everyone on the game and show what we’ve been up to.”

This was Gearbox CEO, Randy Pitchford’s response to a question about Colonial Marines in the latest Gearboxity. Thanks to Brother for the link.

Well guys we’ve reached the 1,000,000 forum posts milestone. To celebrate the occasion Ikarop has put together a few celebratory wallpaper images:

There’s more. Get them while they’re hot. Uncanny Psycho has also put together some wallpaper for the event. Thanks to all our members and our staff. Let’s get moving on to 2,000,000.

A few sites are picking this up and running with it at the moment. In an interview with German newspaper Blick, Ridley Scott made some interesting comments:

Scott speaks of Erich von Daniken: “He has guessed right. Millions of years ago, there were intelligent creatures everywhere.” It is a time when HR Giger’s monster didn’t exist. “I have to create something new.”

Now what this means exactly we don’t know but JoBlo took this to mean we’ll actually see millions of years ago. Thanks to Valaquen, BoneSaw and PrometheusAlien for the links.

Deadline has just announced that Logan-Marshall Green has been cast in Prometheus as Holloway:

“Ridley Scott and 20th Century Fox have tapped Logan Marshall-Green to play a lead role in Prometheus, the science fiction film that Scott next directs. Marshall-Green will play the role of Holloway, a crewman on the space ship and the love interest for the character played by Noomi Rapace. Rapace, the Girl with the Dragon Tattoo star, was the first castmember set by Scott. Marshall-Green most recently was seen in Devil and Brooklyn’s Finest, and did stints on The O.C. and 24. He’s repped by 3 Arts and Gersh.”

Thanks to Darkoo for the news.

He’s repped by 3 Arts and Gersh. This was a role that a lot of young actors chased, and who wouldn’t want to be involved in Scott’s first sci-fi foray since Alien?

It looks like Fox is going to be releasing the individual Alien films on Blu-ray. DVD Empire has the cover art:

You can view them all and in a larger size in our forum. There’s been no comment from Fox Home Entertainment as yet but according to DVD Empire they’re scheduled for release in May. Thanks to Valaquen for the news.

Noomi Rapace sat down with MTV Movies to discuss her character in Prometheus, Elizabeth Shaw:

“She’s definitely her own,” Rapace said of Shaw. “She’s a scientist and she’s very bright and she’s a believer. They have some similarities, but she’s very much her own. I don’t think people will compare [her] so much to Ripley when they see her. Ripley was a hero for me.”

She is also mentioned as offhandedly confirming the connection to Alien universe.  Thanks to Darkoo for the link.

Another actor has joined the cast of Prometheus. This time it’s Brit actor Rafe Spall:

“The actor—who’ll next be seen in Roland Emmerich‘s “Anonymous” as well as Lone Scherfig‘s “One Day”—will star along side the likes of Michael Fassbender, Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba, Sean Harris and Kate Dickie.  While “Monsters” and future “Cogan’s Trade” star Scoot McNairy was also previously linked to a role, it may have been the one Spall has now been cast in.”

There’s nothing about the character Spall will be playing. Click here for the source. However the article also stats on the 21st of March at Pinewood Studios in London. Thanks to Darkoo for the news.

Now old Arnold Schwarzenegger’s political career is ending, he’s returning to film. At one of his regular Arnold Seminars, Schwarzenegger fansite The Arnold Fans asked him about his future projects. His answer was this:

“Well, first of all it’s more 15 films, obvious ones from The Terminator to remakes of Predator and The Running Man and all of those things.  Then also a lot of original stuff too.  But I am also packaging   a Comic Book character right now. I’m going to announce that sometime by the end of March or the beginning of April.”

I’m not sure why he said a remake of Predator given the release of Predators last year. Perhaps he meant a sequel to Predators. Thanks to Bat Chain Puller for the link.

NECA Lost Predators

Merchandise | By Corporal Hicks on 06 Mar 2011 11:19 AM

NECA Toys has finally unveiled their first two of the Lost Predators from Predator 2:

Say hello to Boar Predator. Also next in line is the Shaman Predator. You can see a picture of him in the forums. These figures were initially shown in the latest issue of the Wizards magazine with NECA showing bigger pictures on their Twitter. I’ve got to admit I’m pretty excited about these two.

Aint It Cool News recently reported that Prometheus will be filming in Scotland:

“The Scottish Daily Express reported today that Inverness or Fort William in the Scottish Highlands will be the production base for an August and September shoot. According to the article, other mountainous parts of Europe had been considered but the Scottish Highlands best suited the film’s theme of “grand mythology and the universe” (the relative proximity to Pinewood Studios in England where the rest of the film is shooting wouldn’t have hurt either).”

Thanks to Valaquen for the news.
