There’s a semi-interesting interview over at SKNR with Victoria Bildwell. She played the pregnant woman in AvP Requiem whose stomach was ripped open. She talks a little about how the scene was done and what it was like.

GVK: How much of the birthing scene was makeup and prosthetics and how much was cgi?

VB: I was amazed at what they can do in special effects, I’d never done anything of this genre before and it was brilliant! From what I saw, they used prosthetics and puppets. I wasn’t aware of any cgi when I was working, it was the real thing and it was so scary I can’t even tell you!

    believe it or not the only way you can distinguish its a rescue chopper is when it crashe,s you can read it EMERGENCY service, when on the roof when there fleeing the aliens its that dark you can only see its outline  not bad to say its mainly bright  white with  blue tail strut .thats how dark this movie is   In a helicopter you can just fly up,over# you never say!! lol there,s me thinking they use it to sell ice cream

    Zen: Good idea with the P1. I thought in the beginning of AVPR we were gonna see numerous predators impaled and mutilated in the sleep pods by the hybrid, wasting elderpred and what not? That would have been cool.

    konradski:It was'nt brought in by the gaurd,it was the hospital chopper.Did you see the mountains in the background?.They would need a helicopter to fly in to get the people.Lets say my leg was broken,and im slowly bleeding to death,if they were to drive me down from the mountain it would take hours.I'd be dead once they got me to the bottom.In a helicopter you can just fly up,over the buildings,trees,terrain and everything else.Even if it were a new one,it still would'nt have a key,because every second counts.  Sulaco:Thats okay dude,i do the same a lot of the time.And ya that would have been cool with the aliens.They so could have added an extra 20 minutes to the movie,then again I say the same for P1.I mean would'nt that just be awesome if they had a 13-23 minute prologue showing the predator hunting,killing and then skinning those other guys?.That would be f***ing sweet!   ;D  .

    no zen your correct some helicopters need an ignition key but i have a feeling the one portrayed is an old bell huey with just a push start configuration ,homage to pred 1, being what looked like an army one brought in by the national gaurd  ps:: your too easy to troll so ill stop :)

    Zen: Sometimes I run my mouth before I think, I don't know why I thought choppas need keys. I thought avpr would have been cool if the aliens made the hive in the sewer and came out at night to collect hosts. Because they mostly come at night, mostly! Lol. I think it would have been cool on the rooftop for the predalien and warriors to try to jump wolf and have him use that bad ass xenowhip to lash them back. I also can't say it enough, they could of had a runner. I loved the first sight of the warrior coming around the corner in the sewer {freaky}. Avpr is growing on me, I really enjoyed it, as again like last night I'm signing off, and have a good night buddy. Peace    8)     8)     8)

(Dont get me wrong,I also think the minigun is f***ing awesome!).  Sulaco:You dont need keys to a helicopter because not everyone can fly a chopper (I dont know how to,and i dont think konradski can either),and they've had a GPS tracking system in them since it was invented.And besides,in most places its a fellony to steel goverment property,thats 10 to 50 years in prison.Also maybe the aliens can do it fast,because they never really showed it in the ALIEN movies.

    lol exactly mate i too would liked  to have had a scene fleshing out the aliens creating the hive when they escaped the sewer  note its only in stairwell and the maternity ward/corridor when jessy gets pinned to wall , if it anywere else the flashy light/lack of , distort your view of it  dont need keys for the the chopper ,she just flicks the switches and the rotors kick in ? it looks like an army chopper, huey i thinks just like one in predator lol "get to da chopper"  could just be a push  button start one   ill bang a still up in forum  if ya want of reiko flicking knobs lol   ;D

    there,s one hell of a big diffrence in how predator was brought to the screen in the 80,s as opposed to avp-r mate so dont even bother trying to waffle on  it was a new thing to show the mini gun .and one of its selling points ie try and show somthing new that no film had at the time. also shown in three other movies kicking around the same time terminater 2 ,soldier,fortress and many a rip off straight to video combo and yes i did laugh when i saw the scene but it was in keeping with the films premise at the time and still is , as it was an arnie film   that bit of fantasy i can handle  and i can also take the fact i saw apollo cree,s arm under his vest

    Zen or konradski? 2 questions! How did Reiko get the keys for the choppa. I can't recall? How did the aliens construct that hive so quick? I don't care about life cycle, avp set that up.

    Oh,and the maxim machine gun,aka:minigun,fires 6000 revolutions/rounds per minute (100 per second).But in P1 they reduced it to 3000rpm.And each shell weighs at least 2 pounds.And Blain (and Mac) was firing it for a little under half a minute.So your telling me (with your logic) that Blain was carrying 1.5 tons of ammo on his back?.

    I use a 25w bulb with a neodimiun sleeve for my pet toads.And im sorry because i must have missed the part were they flicked the switch.And you know those switches for homes were like the dial but it goes up and down?.Insurance companys are begining to stop covering houses with them if theres a fire,because insufficient power causes them to blow up in some cases.And no i didnt see anyone refill it.But just because you dont see it does'nt mean it is or is not there or happening.And did you stop to think that maybe to save a quick buck the person running the hospital just got crappy cheap knock-off bulbs?.I watch the news and listen to my relative all the time on how those people are cheap-skates.

    k lol transformers was actualy good to watch and enjoyable so no i wont knock it  ok so why did they have to flick the switch to turn the lights on flouresiants lights use a starter to charge up the power to turn on   your reptiles would be very cold under a flouresant light try a bulb meant to give off heat for healthy pets maybe a normal beonet fitting or halogen  so you can blow a light by not having power tht defies belief ask an electrician ineficiant power = dim or no light at all that why we have ressistors in products to lower voltage and how dimmer switche,s work ie your terrarium control switch  you still dont answer any of the points i raised did you see in the film if any of the people refill the generator simple question

    Totaly agree with you on A:R,they showed too much and in AVP the preds got whacked left and right,but they were very young and unexperienced,so i did'nt really mind.The pool was very cool,and i like how the ooze made all the bacteria in the pool disappear,taking the water with it.Or does the ooze evaporate the water?.It turned the aliens,people and some plant life into dust.I agree with the small budget,but after the hubbub with AVP the producers werent sure,so they gave it a smaller budget and thought "If it makes enough money then we'll do a big budget movies sequal".Or thats what i like to think,i have no idea what they're thinking and thats the best i could come up with.I would say more,but i already wrote it down in my other comments.It's getting late on the east side,so i've only got time for one more comment tonight,then its off to bed,so good-by my freind,and sleep well.PEACE OUT!!!.  l..l_   ;D  _l..l

    I loved the alien dragging the body in the pool room, would have rather had the aliens cut the power on purpose like the old days, they needed a runner, perfect opportunity. More time needed on the pred ship { that scene was awesome} Wolf looked great! Maybe could have used that whip more, just some quick thoughts, trying not to bitch, out of time will be back tonight!!!

    What's up Zen? I embrace avpr in the series, I liked the idea of it being a dark b movie horror show. I saw it twice and if it's still playing? " one more time " I thought they were right on with ideas, but the small budget held them back a little. Pretty cool and fun movie to see, definatly did not ruin the series, I thought the alien series was crashing because of AR and the predators not being taken seriously because of AvP... Yeah AVPR kinda went in with nothing to lose. Can't wait for the extended dvd!!!Hit me back!!!   8)     8)     8)

    Sulaco:HEY DUDE!!!   ;D  .Long-time-no-read!(   :D  ).I very much enjoyed AVP-R,it was'nt an epic film,but it was very awesome!.I'm so sick of people going "epic" this and "epic" that.Why can't people just enjoy the things in life rather then just bitch  about them?.Oh well,glad ya liked the movie buddy,unfortunetly my script is down the toilet because major plot points in it are in the movie,but thats ok,because my script was'nt really going anywhere.What about you?   ;D  .

    konradski:I own a terrarium,and i have a lamp with a dial so i can adjust the lighting,and in some cases if insufficiant power reaches the bulb then it can blow.The same can be said for the lights in the hospital if you asume that 2 genys are running the lights and 1 is'nt working then very little power will cause some of the bulbs to blow.And in some cases an entire room will be out of power while another is brightly lit.And the generators will only function if you put gas in them,and to keep people from dying the genys that keep people from dying and the ones for lighting are on different systems.(A reletive of mine is in the medical profession).Oh,and maybe you should knock TRANSFORMERS for having robots because films from the 50's had them.

    back up genys kick straight in and dont turn lights off at the SWITCH ,,as people on ventilators other medical equipment would die DOHH!! ,another  point i didnt see any of our intrepeid survivors filling it up..did you !! i must have missed that part in my exitement on waiting for an epilleptic fit to kick in why were they flickering my flosi lights dont are you now going to say every fluorescent Starter was somehow knackerd because of a power failure,,i dont think so you do know what one is dont you  why its been done before being eaten inside out in quite a few b movie,s and others like the Society ,the decent any one remeber the film were the dead fella sits up n his inards fall out on the operating table ,or the one were the zombies push thier hands into a guys stomach theres more if you look the 80,s cheap horror video were abound with ways to evicerate birth  see i dont have to come up with a diffrent take as most have been done and that,s why the scene is redundant and just in the movie so the strauss brothers cansay they gave you a revulsion scene which was crap

    Wolfs Girl   i agree  reminded me of parasite,s effects   more terrifying than avp-r was xtros pregnation birth scene now thats how you freak somone out  not a buncha muppets sliding around tagliatelli   any one else find the annoying flickering flouresant lights a bit too much of a cliche in the hospital ,  also did the aliens turn them off just before the people arrived lol they were on before the attack not only are they the most vicious terror calculating creature mankind will ever encounter but they have an energy saving policy and render lighting all flickery like lmao

    Also i think that the shift suit can work under water,but in air AND water the suit does'nt know which to go with,and it then malfunctions (just a thought).The time between AVPR ans A2 is so far apart that the chances of what happened to Ripley could easily have happened to Reiko's character.The movie centers on both the aliens AND predators,and im a huge pred fan who was looking for all of the pred scenes,only someone who was not paying attention to the movie would say otherwise.So there are many good parts to the film,so dont listen to those stupid critics,they just spend most of their time at the theater ja*****-**f in the corner and they do'nt pay attention to the movie.Im not telling you to see this movie,nor am i not telling you to skip it,im just telling you to ignore those critics,I've already voted for GREAT on the online poll,but dont expect it to be exactly like P1 or A2,but you can at least expect it to be better then AVP.I give this movie an 8.5 out of 10    ;D   ( thats just for me,not you guy's/gal's).     I got to see the new pred-tech and really awesome.the CGI parts were goood,and you couldnt pull them off with the puppets or you would have see'n the cords.The part with Woplf taking off his mask was not like in P1,he just took it off and dropped it,if we were all wearing viking helmets would you take off the helmet the normal way,or some bizzar way?.He (Wold) did it the normall way.The acting was a lot better then in the trailers.When ii heard desimiation proclamation i was a tad bit worried that Tyler would go over-bourd on the themes,but he did'nt,he added just enaugh to ad that feel to the movie.The reason for the big tanks is because of the nuclear plant (radiation shielding).Now the main predator sound like a bull in this movie,but i highly doubt that I,Deco,Rafeal.S,gameoverman and Bio Mech Hunter all have the same voice,that wouldd just be impossible,so i think the new voice adds individuallity to the predators.

    My birthday was a few days ago and i got to see AVP-R on it!.It was f**king awesome!!.First off,dont listen to those idiot critics,i get a lot of out of state news-papers,and in one of them it was Christopher Borelli saying how much I AM LEGEND suck's,saying how the power was working everywhere.It was'nt,if he actually watched the movie he'd have see'n the generators under the sink and on the docks,and that all one whould need whould be an electric pump for the water and when Will Smith was getting gas he was using a hand pump to pump it into the container.And he said that the monsters looked like a bad knock-off of lord moldybutt,which if that were the case my a$$ looks like Tom Cruise.The predalien was on the ship for a few days while the pred ship orbited earth.There were only the drones and Chet,and no other aliens like the runner in it.There was only three types of laughter in this movie,one was when Dallas said said (in a cool way) "GET TO THE CHOPPER!!!".People laughed only in the scenes where there was supposed to be laughter (you'll see).And the third was the evil maniacal laughter like when that bimbo got shurikanned to the wall (think of that bug thing from FAMILY GUY "GOOD,GOOD!.").

Now we only have a VS movie to see them kick ass."  I could perhaps say the same for Freddy Vs. Jason. It wasn't really that scary, and it was all about them fighting to the death.

    I really just think this scene was meant to be good. It was disturbing, which is what I loved about it. Aliens and Predator the old movie never did that for me. There was never anything as disturbing except thee very first chesburster scene. But after that were all used to it. I mean seriously, does anyone get scared from Alien and Predator now???  People call Alien a scary film, does anyone even get scared from it now anymore? I never did but that doesn't mean the chestburster thing took me by suprise. I loved the new reproduction thing more becasue it truly was new and I don't think anyone saw it coming, well except for the shit heads who read about it before the movie came out.   I think thats a reason why when making these films no one should be caring about the acting. The acting is what sells the horror, thats what made Alien scary. But there not scary anymore. So why should we care about the acting. I know alot of people say they did a good job with the Predator.
