AvP2 Title Confirmed!

Finally! The title for AvP2 has finally been confirmed as Aliens vs. Predator according to Superherohype.

“ComingSoon.net is reporting that 20th Century Fox has updated the title for the Alien vs. Predator sequel, coming to theaters on Christmas Day. It’s really simple, just add an “s”… ALIENS VS. PREDATOR”

I actually think it’s a decent title. It adds an S and drops the 2 so I guess it feels like this film will be what AvP should have been. Thanks to James and Darkoo for the news.

Update: Thanks to Harry72 for this. ComingSoon.net also has the AvP2 website down as AliensVsPredator.com. This domain is owned by Fox and was registered way back in 2001.

    lol wasint there a comic were there was preds in yellow stone killing pepole randomly for fun and a elder was sent in tokill them ? i think they took that comic hollywooded it up and thrown in the predalien and aliens and marines  for good messure but yes Aliens vs Pred is a better choise lol less crap to print up lol so what if they get "confused" if you are English and you dont know words that mean one thing and one word that means more then 1  thing your stupid lol

    KODAH KNOWS BEST, SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST IS THE WAY TO GO, ALTOUGH ASVP IS OK TOO. STILL WONDERING WETHER OR NOT SIGGIE AND  ARNOLD WILL JOIN THE CAST, ANY UPDATES   ???

    They should have kept the name simple.  The easiest and best name for this film should have been:  "Alien 6 the 1st AVP sequel  after Alien 4 VS Predator the 4th Sequel to Predator and the 2nd Prequel to Aliens"  .......see how it just rolls right off the tongue?

    Im sorry i must disagree it isnt the name of the moive i looked for trailes and went on the 20th century fox homepage if you look you can see that the name is Alien vs. Predator: Survival Of The Fittest in the comming soon topic

    The new title fitts the film, abunch of Aliens versus 1 Predator! i like it, plus it pays homage to the original sequel 'Aliens'. I hope this movie is good, r rated (18) has a good, decent plot and well directed, not like the original.  Paul 'i cant direct' Anderson! p.s no geeks allowed! this film should be for us original fans! not kids who play video games!

    great, now if the story doesn't got any connection to avp1, we all can just assume avp1 never happened. unfortunately, they went with the pred ship crash crap script.

    i think the new title Aliens vs Predator sounds really cool and i like that title alot. thought the other title Alien vs Predator: Survival of the Fittest sounded cool but the newer one sounds much better. i just hope that this one is much more better and improved that paul anderson's verison of AVP. i hope the aliens and predators kills alot of people and also each other in the movie.    8)     ;D     ;)

    i'm gonna be irritated if the movie makes the predators seem less 'predator/hunter' natured and the aliens more dominating in the story. i believe that a lot is known about aliens and not enough about the predators way of life, and doing stuff, and like how they make decisions and habitat etc. i'd like to find some info in the movie about such stuff. More indepth.   8)

    Dual Blade, I totally agree with you. If the movie is great, that's what truly matters.  However, I was hoping there is going to be more than one predator for a) a more epic scale and b) lore accuracy. Typically, in previous AVP media (mainly the comics, games, & novels) the title Aliens vs. Predator carries a negative connotation that has a skewed portrayal of both species over previous Alien & Predator film canon.  Well just have to wait until it comes out before we can find out. lol Regardless, I think Alien vs. Predator: Survival of the Fittest sounds so much better. lol ;-)

    Bio Mech Hunter, it doesn't matter HOW many predators they are as long as the films good THATS all that matters ...  ... besides, if the film does well then don't be surprise of a third movie, perhaps then you'll get your Aliens vs Predator(s) movie, that am sure of.

    I am very please with the title.    ;D    The first Alien then it's sequel was Aliens, so why not the second AVP?  The confusion is actually one of the odd elements I like.   I think it is funny how so many people say; "yeah I saw Alien, it was the one with the little girl right?" LOL.  Perfect IMHO.

    Well, I was afraid of this. I never liked this title to begin with because all that it implies is that every alien is mindless cannon fodder for one "almighty" pred. I'm really disappointed. I'm going to be really pissed if there's only one predator in the whole film.  Hopefully this film will not go the way of many of the horrible AVP comics and games, but it's looking more and more like it everyday. Can't tell for sure until we actually see the film, though. lol *crosses fingers*

    I actually think its pretty decent for the title, i mean there COULD be some people who arnt really fans who are confused by the title and dont know its the sequel or somethin, but it shouldnt be that confusing.....but hell, it beats f**kin survival of the fittest   :P

    The reason I reckon with the title is :  1. To possibly start off as a refresh as oppose to it ACTUALLY being dubbed a sequel of sorts, everying about the movie will have that sense of being built from hands up.  This time round FOX knows better.

    This could only mean 1 thing. That the Predator in this movies isn't going to be some newb. But some badass thats gonna be screwing every human and alien in sight.    ;D   Think predator 2!!!!!

    I... Well...... Its not a great title i liked "Alien vs Predator 2 : Survival of the fittest." I thought that was way better than just aliens vs predator what do you guys think ?   :-\
