John Cena In Predator Remake

Predator 3 News | Posted by Darkness on 28 Oct 2005 12:01 AM

You may have heard a few months ago that John McTiernan was attached to do some kind of Predator restart and John Cena was also attached. MovieHole has a reports that WWE wrestler, John Cena, could be in a remake of Predator.

“I have to admit, this is the very first that I’m hearing on it, but according to the “Wrestling Observer Newsletter”, WWE Superstar John Cena, coming up next in “The Marine” opposite “Nip/Tuck” star Kelly Carlson, is apparently up for the lead role in a remake of 1987′s Arnold Schwazenegger starrer, “Predator”. The “Observer” was one of the first to break the news about Cena’s role in “The Marine”, so I’m betting that there’s a bit of “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” going on around this story. The WWE has pushed several of their Wrestlers for big screen projects as of late, with Cena, The Rock, “Stone Cold” Steve Austin & Kane all headlining new projects within the next few months.”

Tom Rothman Talks Alien 5

Alien 5 News | Posted by Darkness on 12 Jul 2005 12:01 AM

IESB have interviewed Fox producer, Tom Rothman, at the premiere of Fantastic Four and he made a small comment about Ridley Scott and Alien 5:

“Every time I see Ridley Scott he still talks about Alien so there’s always a possibility. I don’t think it’s near-turn, I think he has a couple of other movies he wants to do first, but we have a deal with Ridley and it’s always possible.”

Some of you may remember the original news report I made back in February 2004 about the Alien Quadrilogy Head coming out in Japan. Well, it seems Fox are now releasing the unique packaging in the UK as well. Its retail price is about £130 but you may be able to find it for about £80 online. A Predator 3 Restart?

Predator 3 News | Posted by Darkness on 09 Feb 2005 12:01 AM

A rumour has surfaced on LatinoReview that John McTiernan could return to direct a new predator film. I couldn’t find the news on the original website but BloodyDisgusting reported it:

“Without getting my own ass in trouble, here’s a smallish bit of news. Twentieth Century Fox are in talks with Johnny McTiernan to do a new Predator film – not a sequel, not a remake, not a prequel; more of a restart. There’s talk – based on a treatment that’s floating around the traps – that it might fix on Dutch’s (the guy from the first film, Arnie played) grown-up commando kid. John Cena’s (one of Vince McMahon’s kids) name has been branded about for the lead – but it’s early days. They apparently want to coax JMT away from The Thomas Crown Affair sequel, have offered him this hoping it’ll do trick.”

No Ridley Scott For Alien 5?

Alien 5 News | Posted by Darkness on 20 Jan 2005 12:01 AM

In his first interview since AvP, Ridley Scott made a small comment when asked if he would do Alien 5 in an interview with SciFi. As reported on JoBlo’s:

“But Scott added there’s one SF story he doesn’t want to revist: a fifth film in the Alien series. “No,” he said with finality. “I think they’ve wrung it dry.”

Looks like AvP destroyed any chance of Ridley Scott doing Alien 5.
